How to Add an AI Chatbot to Your Website in 10 Minutes

PalaChat Team||5 min read

Adding an AI chatbot to your website used to require developers, APIs, and weeks of setup. In 2026, you can do it yourself in under 10 minutes — with zero coding.

Here's exactly how to do it using PalaChat.

What You'll Need

  • A PalaChat account (free plan works fine)
  • Access to your website's HTML or CMS (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, etc.)
  • Your website URL or a PDF of your FAQs

Step 1: Create Your Chatbot

After signing up at palachat.com, you'll land on your dashboard. Click "Create Chatbot" and give it a name — something like "Website Support Bot" or your company name.

You can customise the system prompt to set the chatbot's personality. For example: "You are a friendly customer support agent for ABC Pte Ltd. Answer questions about our services, pricing, and operating hours."

Step 2: Upload Your Knowledge Base

This is where the magic happens. You have two options:

Option A: Paste your website URL. PalaChat will automatically crawl your website pages and train the chatbot on all the content it finds — your services, pricing, FAQs, about page, and more. Option B: Upload PDF documents. If you have product catalogues, service guides, or FAQ documents, upload them directly.

The chatbot will only answer based on the content you provide. It won't make things up or go off-topic.

Step 3: Test Your Chatbot

Use the built-in preview to ask your chatbot questions. Try the kinds of questions your customers actually ask:

  • "What are your opening hours?"
  • "Do you deliver to Jurong?"
  • "How much does the basic package cost?"
If the answers aren't quite right, update your knowledge base or refine the system prompt.

Step 4: Embed on Your Website

Go to the Embed tab in your chatbot settings. You'll see a single line of code that looks like this:

Copy this code and paste it just before the closing tag on your website.

For WordPress: Use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers" or add it to your theme's footer.php. For Shopify: Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit Code → theme.liquid, and paste before . For Wix: Use the Custom Code feature under Settings → Advanced. For custom HTML: Simply paste the script tag into your HTML file.

Step 5: Go Live

That's it. Once the script is on your page, a chat bubble will appear in the bottom-right corner. Your visitors can click it and start chatting with your AI assistant immediately.

Bonus: Connect More Channels

Your chatbot isn't limited to your website. From the Integrations tab, you can connect the same chatbot to:

  • WhatsApp — for customers who prefer messaging
  • Telegram — popular in Singapore
  • Messenger — reach your Facebook audience
  • Instagram — handle DMs automatically
  • LINE and Slack — for specific markets and internal use
All channels share the same knowledge base. Train once, deploy everywhere.

Common Questions

Will it slow down my website? No. The widget script loads asynchronously and doesn't block your page rendering. Can I customise how it looks? Yes. You can change the primary colour, welcome message, and chatbot name from your dashboard. What if the chatbot can't answer a question? It will let the customer know and can offer a callback request form so your team can follow up. Is it mobile-friendly? Absolutely. The chat widget is fully responsive and works on all screen sizes.
